TAX REFUND

1. E-file is complete: Now you just have to hold tight and relax. Your refund is on its way.
 

2. Start tracking your refund: If your return was not accepted, a tax professional will contact you. You can track your refund at the IRS Where’s My Refund tool. The IRS expects to issue more than 9 out of 10 refunds in less than 21 days upon acceptance.
 

3. Your tax refund is here: If you chose direct deposit when you filed your return, you’ll need to allow 1-2 business days for your bank or financial institution to process it and have it available for you once the IRS has released it. If you didn’t choose direct deposit, the IRS will mail you your tax refund check, which could take 6-8 weeks. If filing an amendment, it can take anywhere from 8 – 12 weeks.
